NATO SPELLING ALPHABET TEA TOWEL
ALL COTTON TEA TOWELS
Tea Towel? Dish Towel? Kitchen Towel? All the same, near as I can tell. These 100% cotton cloths are absorbent and perfect for drying dishes, lining a muffin basket, or just handsome decoration.
This tea towel is a playful representation of the NATO Spelling Alphabet. Developed in 1956, this set of words allows one to communicate clearly over the phone — or two-way radio — when specifying individual letters, like in a serial number, license plate, or words that could be misunderstood. It was vetted through all the NATO countries to find words that were compatible with more than 20 languages.
The towel is reproduced by Letterpress with permanent ink using a vintage 1936 Vandercook 03 sign press. They can be machine washed and dried with your other whites. 17” x 30” (approximately) with hanging loop.
Also available as a Post card.
